So I am really excited to see the new Wolverine movie. Now, I was not one of the people who saw it already due to someone leaking the movie out. I wanted to see how is supposed to be seen, on the Big Screen. I will be one of those people seeing it at Midnight. If you have not even heard about this movie check out the trailer.

Man, I have not posted for while. Just been really busy lately. This last weekend was an amazing Easter at flamingo road church. We had over 500 people Baptize. Don't know the exact number of people we had total that came to our services but there were a lot. Well I'm almost done for the semester at FIU and I have just 1 semester to go until I graduate. YAY!!! As far as my glove controller, it has been put on hold but I will pick on it this Summer. Hopefully I ill have it ready before school starts in the fall. Right now FRC is in a series called Missed. There is website that is going on that is for this series so check it out IveMissed.com. Whats New

So I have had a snag with my glove controller. My Arduino chip no longer wanted to be detected on any computer. I think I fried it somehow, so I order a new one. So hopefully when the new part comes in I can get all my sensors to work. I hope to developed a glove similar to the picture below.

Once I finish the glove, I then need to figure out how I plan on using it.

Couple things I thought of:

1. Using my glove to play a virtual instrument; like a trumpet

2. Use each finger to trigger different things

3. Maybe conduct a virtual piece by moving my hand

If you have any ideas on what I should use my glove for, leave a comment?

Are FRC video team did a great job making this video. The song we used was "What ever it Takes" by LifeHouse. Every campus sang this live while the video was playing on all the screens. It definitely turned out really well!!

Grammy's

I love the Grammy's, because it is not just an award show but it is an amazing concert. I love how it started off with U2 performing. Then the first award went to Jennifer Hudson who suffer a lot in 2008 with death of her mother, brother, and nephew. Then later that night she performed and I know it was an emotional performance. Coldplay won a few grammy's and had an awesome performance. Boy, can Carrie Underwood sing and she had a girl lead guitar that rocked. Jonas Brothers singing with Stevie Wonder was pretty cool. Then when MIA came out for her performance, and she did it nine months pregnant. She was actually due that night, props to that!! Overall it was a good Grammy's!!

Man, I haven't blog for a while, been keeping busy. I am really excited that Heroes has started up again, Monday's episode was good. Of course Lost started its new season just 2 weeks ago and it's already insane. I am currently working on a cool glove controller for my senior research at FIU. (I have to full fill at least 4 credits of research in the music technology program at FIU) The glove will have flex sensors that will detect the movement of my finger as I bend them, it will also have accelerometer that will detect the movement of my entire hand, and lastly I am putting infrared sensors in order detect when I pass an object/person. I am controlling all of this with Arduino USB board. Right now am having problems programing the Arduino. Once I get it working I can get the sensor to work. The software I am using is called Max 5. As my research gets further along, I will check in with its progress.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! It has been a long time since i blogged!! I thought I would start this year with a new post. This year I had the pleasure to go the De Armas' house for a new years party that was hosted by Brigitte and Thomas Soucy, Raul and Tati Amador. I was able get some fireworks to make it an even more enjoyable new years. When the clock struck Midnight, I time it right where the first of fireworks went off. Now we are all saying happy new year to each other, shooting more fireworks. Then something stupid happened, one of my friends(Raul) was wondering "what would happen if I lit the paper of a whole set of bottle rockets". Of course he was playing but the fire was to close to the rockets and it caught fire. Then the fuses got lit on the rockets and Raul threw it into the grass instead of the pool like he should of. Then chaos happened!!?@?@ A couple of the rockets flew right at us. One flew right by me and hit thomas in the chest. Thomas reacted by jumping into the pool, with his hand held high gripping his iphone( the iphone is still working). Seeing that was freakin hilarious. The bad thing was that a rocket hit Tati in the mouth but she will be fine. As result of this incident Raul was suspended from fireworks indefinitely and we resumed the fireworks in the front of the house. So you can say we started out the year with a BANG, literally.

Life In Technicolor ii - Coldplay
I know I have not blogged for awhile, been busy. Anyways, Prospekts March came out last week. These were the songs Coldplay could not get on the Viva la Vida album time. Now you can get the complete album how it was intended to be. Let me tell, I went to there concert a month ago and it was just phenomenal. If you ever get a chance go see them, GO!!!
What else!! Oh, if you have not heard yet. My church started a series called thegiftrevolution.com. We want people to inspire the world in 25 days by doing random acts of kindness to others. Right now we are struggling with the economy and some kindness could go a long way to someone. Just this last Sunday, I was in the drive thru of a checkers and I paid for the person behind me. When I told the checker employee to give the gift revolution card to the person behind me he then realized what I was doing. Let me tell, it felt pretty awesome. I would encourage you to spread the gift revolution to someone.

Star Trek XI

As some of you know I'm the biggest Star Wars FAN but I am fan of Star Trek as well. Star Trek the Next Generation was one of those shows I watch with my father back when I was a little kid, so you could say it was my dad who got me into Sci Fi. I never really watch the original Trek, accept for the movies. Star Trek XI is actually going to be a prequel to the original series, accept it will look a lot nicer. After looking at the latest trailer, its looks pretty cool.

New Mute Math Song

MuteMath is one my favorite bands and I cannot get enough of there music. Some would say I play MuteMath a bit to much. As much as I love there last album, I am so ready for some new music. Unfortunately the new album won't come out until spring 2009. I was kinda bummed because I thought it would be out by the end of 2008. Then I heard one of there new songs was going to be on the Soundtrack for the Movie: Twilight. The soundtrack came out today and movie will be in theaters Nov.21 2008.

So I downloaded the soundtrack and let me tell you it has some good artist on there. Obliviously the one I cared to listen to was MuteMath. The name of the song is called "Spotlight" and I very much enjoyed the song. Hopefully this will keep me going until the new album release.

I Voted Early!!

I voted early today but I had wait 3 hours in line. I went to West Dade Regional library on Coral Way and 94th Ave. It was open at 11:00 am and I got there at 12:15 p.m. so you can imagine the wait as the day went on. Vicky and David went to the election headquarters in Doral where they waited 35 minutes, that is not fair. If you plan to vote early go to your election headquarters in your county!

Chick-Fil-A

I love that chick-fil-A, there chicken is so good. Another reason I love chick-fil-a, is because you can order your food 20 minutes before you head to a Chick-Fil-A,( at last the one in Doral you can). Then all you have to do is pay and walk out with your food. I did the very same thing this morning when I was getting breakfast for the setup team in FRC Doral. Its Awesome!!

Beach Baptism

We just had our beach baptism today and it was great. The weather was perfect, we had nice cloud cover to block the sun and we just caught the rain as we were leaving. We baptized 291 people today, that brings our total to 1377 people we baptized this year. That is truly amazing to be apart of this. I was helping out with the video team, so that allowed for me see a lot people to get baptized. It was really awesome to see my people from Doral baptizing; David L, David A, my dad, and Allen. For those of you who did not come out, I strongly encourage you go to the next beach baptism. Anyways, check out this promo we did with Paul Deanno NBC 6 for beach baptism.

Heroes

Recording with David

My sister ask me if I could record a song for a video that is being made to honor her boss. They wanted a song to be recorded in order to avoid copy rights of someone else's song. So my sister Vicky has been bugging me on when I was going to record the song. Finally, this last Wednesday I went to Vicky and David house to record the song. I was going to be recording David's vocals, and guitars. The song they chose was: The Road and The Radio by Kenny Chesney. Of course we changed the song to make it different. As I was walking into the house, I hear a guitar string popped. Of course David was mad because he had to go to guitar center to buy new strings. When David got back, I begin to setup while David restrings his guitar. So I was trying to figure out where to record vocals, because you usually record in a room with dead sound. I thought maybe we could try his bathroom. See the cables running to the bathroom in the picture below.Now, I have all my equipment ready for recording. We first needed to record the guitar so David has something to sing along with. You always record your instruments first before you do vocals. Before I continue, let me tell you what I used for the session. I ran Pro Tools LE 7.4 off my MacBook pro, had a 2 channel Mbox as my audio interface, and Shure KSM27 for my vocals. Thats enough technical jargon. So we finished with the Guitars, and now for vocals. Now, I needed to check how the vocals sounded in the Bathroom. It did not sound to good, so David had an idea to put a comforter over is head to absorb the sound. It actually sounded much better, i figure I could EQ his vocals when I edit the track. After a few takes and punch ins, we got the track finished. Poor David, he was sweating under that comforter.

Overall, it was a fun night. Now I need to finish editing and give the song to my sister.

For those of you who had the opportunity to go to the Cruzan Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, saw an amazing concert last night. Onerepublic open up the concert and I was happy to hear three songs I wanted hear from them. Stop and Stare!!! LOL! John Mayer came out at 9:00 and he played a 2 hour set. Let me tell, he just has a fun time jamming. I could have gone another hour or 2 just listening him play. Now, I was sitting from the lawn and it sounded awesome. Lights were just phenomenal!! They had several light trusses on motors in which they would move up and down as the concert went on. If you ever have chance to see john mayer live, go see him.

Gustav

Its looks like Hurricane Gustav will miss Miami but we will still get lots of rain from this storm. Its already been raining here and there. The people of New Orleans are not so lucky but at least this time they are more organized. The Governor and Mayor have order everyone to evacuate. Its projected to hit the U.S. coast as a category 4 storm. My prayers goes out to the people of Cuba, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.

No more Olympics until 2010(Winter)

I have very much enjoyed these Olympics. Starting with that opening ceremony which was out of this world. The fireworks, the performers, the technology, and the creativity were amazing. Good thing I have Tivo so I can keep watching the ceremony when I want. I stayed up pretty much every night to watch the games. Michael Phelps is a beast, 8 gold medals is incredible!! Watching the 4x100m mens relay freestyle was crazy. I jumped off my couch when Phelps won the 100m butterfly, it was so close.
The Jamaicans killed the competition in track this year, especially Usain Bolt who blew away everyone in the 100m and 200m. The US men's basketball brought Gold back to the USA. I have to give it to Dwyane Wade who led in scoring in the Gold medal game with 27 points. He also made 4/7 three pointers and shot 75% from the field. GO HEAT!!

I know that the USA got the most medals but it was China who got the most Gold. Overall, the Chinese did a great Job hosting these olympics. Now we wait for the Winter Olympics 2110 in Vancouver, then the Summer Olympics 2112 in London. Can't wait

Clone Wars

For those of you who don't know, I am a huge Star Wars fan. On Friday August 15th, the Clone Wars animated movie came out. I was of course one of those crazy fans who went to go see it at Midnight. Let me tell the animation of this movie was incredible. The movie was filled with lots of action, comedy, drama, and lots of lightsabers!!! LOL!! Yes, I know I am a nerd!! Now, the Clone Wars actually takes place between Episodes II and III. The war last about 3 1/2 years, so there is a lot of stories to tell. The movie is just the first of many stories to be told. The actual Tv series will air on Cartoon Network in October. Thats all for now, enjoy this 4 minute clip from the movie.

Back from Vacation

Well, we made back from our vacation. It was an amazing experience. If you ever get chance to visit the the northeast you need to go. Now, I have not finish posting the final two days of my vacation days but its should be up this week.

This week at FRC we held our the Flamingo Film Festival 2008 (F3). Our course I was unable to attend because of being out on vacation. I wish I could of been there. I did however got see the demo reel 2008 video where you see several video's that our media team have done in the past couple of years. I hope you enjoy. Vacation Day 5

We began our day by trying to find a gas station because we were on empty. At least that's what the

indicator said. We weren't sure if we could make it to the gas station but come to find out

the car lied. There was still 2 gals. left.

So now we are finally on our way to Plymouth. There we saw the replica of the Mayflower 2, Plymouth rock and Plymouth Plantation. Not overly exciting. The real fun was eating a great breakfast at Carmen's Cafe. It was goooooood!! While we were there the fog rolled in. Just like the movies. It was really cool and about half an hour later it was gone.

From Plymouth we headed for Boston. Driving down town Boston was an experience. When we finally got to the Boston Commons we looked for a place to park and ended up parking in an u

nderground

parking lot beneath the Boston Commons. After getting a map at the visitors center we drove to some of the sights and then over to see the USS Constitution which happens

to be the oldest commissioned battle ship in the world. It first was commissioned in 1797. "Old Insides" was impressive. I always wanted to see it. After this we had to go see Fenway Park because Daniel really wanted to see the ball park. But because we were running low on time we could not go inside the ball park. However we got pictures from the highway. From there we headed for Portland, Maine to spend t

he night.

It was around 7:00 PM when we arrived. After checking in we went out looking for the appropriate place to dine that evening. I directed Daniel out close to the area of the lighthouses where we planned to visit the next day. We changed 2 or 3 roads and ended up on a long and winding road. But finally there it was "The Good Table" restaurant. First it passed the Poppy test. After entering we were wowed by the service and the atmosphere. But the food! It was sooooooooo gooooooooood!! We had the best clam chowder I've ever tasted, and then lobster, and finally the best blueberry pie I've ever had. Oh was it tasty. By now it was dark when we left. So Daniel got his first experience driving at night on winding roads trying to find his way back to hotel. There were few lights and and he had to negotiate all the curves with just the help of his headlights. But slowly we made our way back to the hotel.

Tomorrow we see the lighthouses. See you then.

Vacation Day 3- Hershey's

Well today my Dad and I went to Hershey's Pennsylvania. Yes, this is the same Hershey's that makes chocolate and other candies as well. Getting there was not to hard but finding our way back was a little tricky. The whole town is centered around this factory. The theme park was pretty big as well, I did not realize it was so big. The park did give the WoW factor but not as much as Disney or Universal Studios. Right off the back, we headed to there newest roller coaster called Fahrenheit.
This roller coaster had an 90 degree angle drop, it was amazing. From there we hit three wooden roller coasters. Two of the wooden costers went together they were called Lightning Racer. One coaster was lighting and the other was thunder. The two would race as you were on the coasters and the end there was winner. (Its was rigged) Then we check out the water park inside Hershey's park and it was pretting cool to see. My newphews Joshua and Jonathan would of loved this place. After this we headed to ride called the side winder. This ride would take you up backwards then it would release you where you head forward and go through some corkscrews, and turns. Once you go through that, then you do it again but backwards. My dad got a little light headed after that one so we took a little break and went on the monorail. After that we ate lunch, saw a show, and went on 2 more roller coasters. I forgot to mention that it was raining the whole time. Not a pour but a slight drizzle. It was enough to keep the 2 big steel coasters from operating. We were tired of the rain so we went to the factory experience. Once inside we went right to the tour where they show us the process of making chocolate. The tour was also a ride.
Once we got off the ride, they gave us chocolate. As we were walking and eating our free chocolate, we ended up in one of biggest candy stores I have ever been too. There was Hershey's candy and stuff everywhere you look.

There was a Hershey's Bakery, custom candy bars, Hershey's shake, Hershey's cafe, and just Hershey's everything. It was just such a awesome place to be at. Before we left i had to ride 2 more coasters that were closed before because of rain. Since it stop raining, I had to go ride them and my dad took pictures this time instead of riding them. Well that concludes todays blog.

Vacation Day 2- Gettysburg

On our second day we visited the battlefield of Gettysburg. It took us a while but we found the visitors center. Apparently they opened a new visitors center last April and is it impressive. Inside they show a movie called "New Birth of Freedom". It gave us the background that led up to the Civil War and helped us to understand what the significance of this battle was to the nation. Tears came to my eyes as I pondered the message given in the film. From there we stopped at the bookstore and then went through the museum that reinforced the film. We went away with a serious feeling of awe that this was more than just another battle in the Civil War but rather a turning point in American history.
After leaving the crowded visitors center we got in our car and proceeded through the 25 mile square battlefield using the auto tour we purchased at the center. Gettysburg was a 3 day battle. It started out small but grew as more and more troops arrived from each side. The city of Gettysburg was significant because of the number of roads that crossed there. We saw where the fighting of the first day took place and then went across the west side of the battlefield where the South made ready for the fight on the second day of battle. The North was defending the high ground along Cemetery Ridge to the east. On the extreme right flank of the North was a place called Little Round Top. It was there that some of the worst fighting took place. We got out and walked around and stood in woods were the 20Th of Maine held their ground after wave after wave of Alabamians were forced back. From there we went to the Wheat field were they said the worst of the fighting took place. In fact the lost in this portion of the battle was so great, that you could not even see the ground because of the number of bodies of fallen men. From there we went out into the middle of the battlefield and saw the place were on the 3rd day Picket's Charge took place.
The last place we visited was the National Cemetery and we stood at the sight where Abraham Lincoln gave the Gettysburg Address. What a experience. Both Daniel and I went away thinking that every American must visit this battle field some time in their life in order to understand and appreciate the price for the freedom that took place on that hallowed ground.

Vacation Day 1

My vacation has caused me to start blogging. So I am kicking off my official first blog now. The last post does not count.

On Monday July 21st, My dad and I got on a plane at 8:00 am to Philadelphia, PA. We arrived around 10:45 am in Phily. We got our luggage and the picked up our car at the rental place. Then we were off to Valley Forge. Yea, we did not see much of Philadelphia but we are coming back on Saturday to do that. One thing we really noticed was all hills PA has, (we don't have hills in Florida). The drive to Valley Forge was just amazing. For those of you who don't know the significance of Valley Forge here is a link: Valley Forge. We almost missed the exit to this place, forgot that we are not familiar with this area.

First thing we did, was watch a fifteen minute movie to know what we were about to see. We got into are car drove through Valley Forge to each site that we wanted to see. One of the coolest thing we saw was George Washington headquarters. The people there were able to preserve the house with some minor changes to the roof.

The last thing we saw in Valley Forge was the Inner Defense. A lot of cannons!!! On the way there we saw 2 deers just chillen so we took a pic of them too.

Anyways, after that we headed to Lancaster where are hotel was. We kinda got lost a little but finally found it. Now, check out these video podcast for the rest of the day.
